We enjoyed a great dinner here. You'll need reservations. It's a popular spot. They were very kind and accommodating to our non French speaking family. The food was excellent. We tried sea bream, salmon, duck and beef. Can't go wrong with any of these choices for your main and we finished with dessert. We're rolling out of here well fed, happy with the service, and will recommend it to friends.

Our original choice for lunch for our short trip to St. Tropez had sadly closed a couple of weeks before our trip. No matter, Le G'Envie welcomed us with open arms- a welcome respite from a brutally hot day.
The staff here was warm and friendly and the vibe was decidedly casual and maybe more catered to locals- but in a good way. What was not casual was the very tasty (but not "special") food that the kitchen delivered.
Add in a half bottle of cold rose, and you got yourself a local classic. Worth a visit... -

Hair in my food & you give attitude instead of an apology!?
There's a reason why "French Hospitality" is not an example - the French attitude has improved over the years, it probably sank in their tourism can't thrive without improving their attitude.
This restaurant thou! If you zoom in on the pic you can see a small hair on the salad plate. Neither my husband nor I or or little Maltese (all white) have grey hair. I politely called the server to show him the hair & the first word coming out of him "you have a dog with you". Ahole - that's a grey hair on my plate & only person with grey hair is your chef in the small open kitchen!
I didn't understand what the chef said but he shouted something at the server & then gave me the most angry stare. If I were 10 years younger I would have thrown the €23 prix-fix in their face & walked away.
Last straw was the Duck entree that was supposed to be medium-rare but was more like medium well.
Coming from NYC, yes we have higher expectations so i don't quite get these many reviews on TripAdvisor- Mediocre food & I'm not just saying because of their unfriendly attitude. There are tons of good restaurants in St. Tropez. This one is NOT WORTH IT! -

September 2018. Make a reservation here and have a relaxed and delicious dinner. Went with friends while on vacation and we enjoyed it very much. It is a little expensive considering you are in rather tight quarters, but it was a special occasion. Not dressy as I thought it might be. Good deserts.

There are a few vacations in life were you stumble across a local charming restaurant, off the beaten path, where the food is so good, and the staff so nice, that it actually makes your trip better, makes your day happier-- and where you know you made a memory that will be a lasting one.
With only a few seats, you can watch the chef and his assistant whip up delicious food-- from the heart. Everyone deserves to try a meal here...
